It's December, and it's but natural to start thinking gifts. In this part of the world, people started Christmas shopping months ago, when September eased in. I, of course, am a master crammer, and will probably do that next week. It does help that I'm a bit anti-social myself and only have a handful of friends to think about.
If you're like me and your partner is NOT into handmade arts, they'd probably have no idea what to get you. Or if you're that partner, then I guess you do need some guidance if you're reading this! This list is a random one of things I found online and probably want in the future (*ahem* hint hint). So here's my curated list of useful things--when I say 'useful' I mean things that they can use to create more art.
LIGHTPAD - $39.99
No doubt this still is one of the most useful things I've ever bought overseas, and remains to be one of my top 5 calligraphy investments to date.
IPAD PRO + APPLE PENCIL
If you didn't see how Master Penman Jake Weidmann (and other artists) demo'd this pencil when it was launched, might you have seen Seb Lester in action with this?
Surely, this product exudes elegance and portability. You save on paper, too! Please note that the Pencil is sold separately.

Pencil / Color Sets
For most artists, nothing beats paper. Be it the final products, sketches, drawings and layout. Give the wow factor in your holiday surprise with a gift set. There's a perfect set for your price range, from to even a whooping $4900+! I'm not kidding!
Pen and Brush Sets
Well thank goodness I do not know color too much, else I'd be staring into the Caran D'Ache set hopelessly. For me, a Sakura 59-piece would be perfect! The variety of points makes me think of all the things to outline, shade, etc.
Brush pen sets range in brand and number of pieces such as:
Travel Brush Set
I'm not big on brush, but I did see this on instagram once and I thought it was so cool that they have a travel set. Calligraphy gods, when are you gonna make a travel kit for nibs and holders?
I could probably bore you with a lot more, so if you'd like to see more, do follow my Pinterest board on Gift Ideas for Artists, Creatives and Calligraphers.
Or save/pin this list for later using the next image :)
